Frequently asked questions

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by us. On your device open Settings, tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions, choose Clara and cancel there. Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends to avoid the next charge. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

How do I restore a purchase?

If you reinstalled the app or got a new device, open Clara and tap Restore Purchases. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple ID you used to subscribe.

How does the free trial work?

The weekly subscription starts with a 3-day free trial for new subscribers. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, it converts to a paid subscription automatically.

How do I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

The camera is black or won't start

Clara needs camera permission. Open Settings → Clara and make sure Camera is switched on, then reopen the app.

Where do saved images go?

Saved images are written to your device's own photo library. They stay on your device and are never uploaded.

Can I use Clara instead of glasses?

No. Clara is an everyday reading aid, not a medical device, and it is not a substitute for prescription glasses or professional low-vision aids. Do not rely on it where misreading could cause harm, such as identifying medication.
